Front Desk Monitor at Volunteers of America-Greater New York supports our mission to end homelessness by providing safe, comprehensive services across New York City, Northern New Jersey, and Westchester County.
Position Overview The Front Desk Monitor is the first point of contact for visitors, residents, and staff. This role manages telephone calls, resident check‑ins, mail and deliveries, crisis assistance, and maintains front door access.
Responsibilities
Greet all visitors and announce arrivals to staff or residents.
Ensure all clients sign in and out as required.
Route mail and deliveries as required.
Assist in crisis intervention and follow assigned emergency procedures.
Conduct assigned residence rounds.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Polite, pleasant manner with efficient, firm front desk/security operation.
Ability to perform diverse tasks with ease and maintain confidentiality.
Related experience with domestic violence preferred.
Certifications (required within 90 days of hire)
CPR/First Aid
Fire & Emergency Drill Conductor (F‑07)
