Job Purpose The EMR Coordinator is a technical and process Subject Matter Expert (SME) for eClinicalWorks (eCW) Practice Management (PM) Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software. This position reports to the EMR Manager and supports the HealthTexas Primary Care Doctors team in maintaining and optimizing the eCW system.

In addition, the EMR Coordinator contributes to the growth and success of HealthTexas while upholding our Mission, Vision and Values.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Act as a process and technical resource for the HealthTexas implementation of eClinicalWorks.

Provide front‑line EMR support and maintain the eCW training program, performing business‑critical administrative tasks.

Escalate issues to eClinicalWorks when necessary.

Create and maintain internal support documentation.

Apply critical thinking and problem‑solving to optimize EMR workflows.

Assist in maintaining all functional areas in eClinicalWorks including registration and scheduling, clinical workflows, Patient Portal, eClinicalMessenger, eClinicalMobile, and others.

Train new employees and ensure system alignment with regulatory requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience

More than 1 year of eClinicalWorks system experience.

Experience developing training courses and documentation for physicians, clinical, and non‑clinical staff.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to work within a dynamic team environment and coordinate with the EMR team, Information Technology department, and business stakeholders.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong problem‑solving ability.

Effective time‑management skills.

Work Hours & Travel Requirements

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with additional hours as needed to complete projects.

Travel to medical offices may be necessary to provide benefit education.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

This job operates in an office setting, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

The role is largely sedentary but requires occasional filing, lifting of files, and the ability to open filing cabinets and stand on a stool as necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
