Description In this position the driver will deliver Premium Dietz & Watson products following a specific route. The Driver serves an essential role by leaving a positive, lasting impression, and delivering product with the highest quality of standards. The Dietz & Watson Delivery Driver is responsible for providing excellent customer service by delivering orders accurately and on time, supporting our legacy of doing things the right way since 1939.
Accountabilities / Duties
Drive to and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route and schedule in a safe, timely manner with a friendly attitude.
Adhere to assigned routes and follow time schedules.
Maintain a safe driving record in compliance with all transportation laws.
Keep the vehicle organized, clean, and tidy.
Comply with all health and safety guidelines and D & W policies and procedures, including strict adherence to dress code and personal hygiene.
Maintain a consistent attendance and punctuality record.
Operate with a strong sense of urgency and adhere to D & W Brand standards.
At the end of the shift, secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip) including inspections of the truck according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed.
Report all safety issues and/or repairs required.
Follow all DOT regulations (including Hours of Service) and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
Immediately report all safety hazards.
Inspect truck for properly loaded and secured freight.
Minimum Requirements
Exhibit high energy and strong interpersonal skills.
Be diligent, organized, and self‑motivated.
Understand and carry out oral and written instructions, requesting clarification when needed.
Be a skilled and confident driver.
Comfortable maneuvering and parking a vehicle.
Alert, focused, and detail‑oriented with an innate sense of direction.
Proficient in using GPS and other routing systems.
Certifications And Work Experience Requirements
Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
Valid CDL B driver’s license required.
Previous delivery driver experience preferred.
Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
Pass road test.
Pass post‑offer drug test, DOT medical certificate, and criminal background check.
