Overview
Material Handler at Inalfa Roof Systems North America – responsible for moving materials, parts, and modules within the plant and warehouse, loading and unloading trucks from suppliers and customers, and maintaining good attendance.
Responsibilities
Follow all safety requirements for the warehouse department.
Operate a forklift and reach truck (certified).
Transport material from the warehouse building to the staging area of production.
Unload incoming shipments and load outgoing shipments to suppliers/customers.
Move materials, dunnage, equipment, and other items as needed.
Assist receiving/warehouse personnel to prevent out-of-stock situations.
Store material properly in the warehouse.
Conduct cycle counts as necessary.
Follow scanning procedures and inventory system processes.
Transport trash containers to the dumpster.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of six months of power industrial truck (PIT) operating experience; one year preferred.
Power Industrial Truck (PIT) evaluation, written examination, and training for OSHA certification.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Mathematical skills – fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions applied to practical situations.
Reasoning ability – define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Physical Demands Stand and walk up to 12 hours; lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate objects; use repetitive motions of hands and arms; sight requirements include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
