Cook - Shift Coordinator
Join Intermountain Health as a Cook - Shift Coordinator. This role involves planning, preparing, and cooking food for cafe, patient, and catering settings, and leading the culinary team when required.
Base Pay Range $19.00/hr - $26.00/hr
Schedule & Hours Full-time, 40 hours per week, rotating shifts and holidays.
Essential Functions
Follow recipes and/or instructions in food preparation.
Prepare bulk food items, large‑scale production, line cook or assemble specialty meals and catered items.
Maintain an organized and sanitary working environment.
Maintain proper production quantities with appropriate rotation of product.
Interact with customers in any venue (catering, retail, patient care).
Deliver patient meals, cashier, stock, and use automatic and manual ware‑washing machines.
Provide after‑hours supervision in the absence of the supervisor or chef.
Skills
Food handling, safety and sanitation.
Food production, recipe execution.
Reading, organizing, communication.
Qualifications
Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day.
Effective reading and communication in English.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Safe food handling techniques used in all applications.
Understand workflow, prioritize, use timelines, and understand deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service (preferred).
Understands and prepares food according to modified diets using appropriate techniques (preferred).
Demonstrated ability to utilize commercial cooking equipment (preferred).
Physical Requirements
See and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
Communicate quickly and accurately with customers.
Manual dexterity for complex equipment, including frequent computer, phone, and cable setup.
Lift, transport, pull, and push equipment, including heavy items up to and including heavy items.
Stand for long periods.
Tolerate temperature extremes and exposure to cleaning chemicals.
