About the Role The Residential Assistant Manager provides support and guidance to the residential manager and to people with disabilities in a residential setting. This position assists with activities, hygiene, and daily living skills. It works with the residential manager in keeping client admin duties up to date, facilitates daily data, and helps maintain adherence to Columbus values, policies and procedures.

What you will do

Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.

Assist with activities of daily living including showering, bathing, toileting, and feeding as needed.

Support daily activities such as household chores, meal preparation, recreational activities, learning activities, and physical fitness.

Accompany individuals on routine errands and community activities.

Represent the needs, wants, and interests of individuals served.

Document daily data according to policies and regulations.

Assist manager in locating and applying for needed services.

Transport clients when needed to medical appointments.

Support residential manager with ongoing admin duties.

Establish and maintain positive relationships and teamwork with staff and the public.

Coordinate with residential managers in training new employees.

Administer medication as directed by each client’s medical plan.

Proactively work with the management team to achieve goals.

Work with residential manager covering shifts when needed.

Assist clients in following their personal budget.

What you’ll need to succeed

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum 18 years old.

Experience with disabilities required.

Two to three years of experience in a residential setting preferred.

Valid driver's license and good driving record.

Pass a pre-employment criminal background check and annual checks.

Basic computer and software skills.

Physical Demands

Stand and walk for long periods.

Mobility and agility to move place to place and body while in place.

Can stoop, bend, or crouch as needed.

Lift up to 100 lbs.

Work in outdoor weather conditions including extremes.
