Crane Operator – Peeples Industries, Inc.
Job Purpose Operate ships gear crane and other specialized heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner with the objective of loading or unloading bulk cargo to or from a vessel.
Responsibilities
Prepare equipment by conducting operator inspections and performing preventive maintenance checks.
Operate equipment, observe varying conditions, and adjust equipment controls.
Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with company policies and legal regulations.
Report hazards or concerns to supervisor. Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, and calling for repairs.
Update job knowledge by participating in training opportunities.
Accomplish operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Skills / Qualifications
Minimum of 1-year experience operating cranes.
Flexible schedule: rotating shifts, days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to qualify for TWIC card.
Ability to pass pre-employment screening, including drug screen, physical and background check.
