Event Bartender
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Event Bartenders to join our dynamic team. As an Event Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for our guests at various events by crafting and serving a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. You will play a crucial role in upholding our high standards of quality, professionalism, and hospitality. This role requires a commitment to teamwork, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for delivering outstanding beverage service.
Responsibilities:
Beverage Service Excellence:
- Provide warm, welcoming, and genuinely connected service to all guests at the bar.
- Anticipate guests' beverage needs and proactively address them.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently.
- Exhibit mastery in mixology, including knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktail recipes and proper preparation techniques such as shaking, stirring, muddling, and layering.
- Develop new cocktail recipes and create custom drink menus tailored to event themes or client preferences.
- Garnish drinks to enhance presentation and flavor.
- Ensure that customers are of legal drinking age by checking IDs and monitoring alcohol consumption to ensure responsible service.
Bar Setup & Breakdown:
- Properly setting up and maintaining a clean, organized, and stocked bar station, including glassware, tools, and garnishes.
- Assist with event setup and breakdown, including unloading and reloading bar equipment and supplies.
- Ensure all bar setup is completed according to event diagrams and standards.
- Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment and maintain a clean service area.
- Restock bar inventory and supplies as needed throughout the event.
Teamwork & Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with team members, including other bartenders, barbacks, servers, and event managers.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and colleagues, including taking orders, making recommendations, and handling complaints.
- Follow instructions and guidelines provided by event managers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Adherence to Standards:
- Comply with all uniform standards and maintain a professional appearance.
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those relating to responsible alcohol service and cell phone usage.
- Follow payroll procedures, including properly clocking in and out.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a bartender, preferably in a catering or event setting, is required.
- Strong knowledge of beverage preparation, including classic and contemporary cocktail recipes, and various types of wine and beer.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with guests and handle complaints professionally.
- Exceptional communication and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple drink orders and tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a clean and organized bar area.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift heavy items such as kegs or cases of beverages.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to follow strict uniform guidelines.
- Minimum age of 21 (or legal drinking age in the area).
- Bartending certification or training is preferred.
