Magnetic Seal has an opportunity for a Manufacturing Operator to join our team! Position Summary
Performs routine set up, operation, preventative maintenance (PM) and reports troubleshooting of basic manufacturing equipment via manual or semi-automated means. Controls and adjusts machine settings. Assists with root‑cause analysis activities for process product exceptions. Identifies and escalates any issues associated with the machine and/or product quality.
Essential Functions
Produces product on various NC, CNC, or manual machines to meet or exceed the requirements of department standards
Takes direction to learn basic machine operation, set up, and maintenance
Runs multiple machines as required by process or as directed
Makes machine tool offsets or adjustments as needed to maintain print specifications
Loads and unloads machines as per the cycle time noted on the router
Studies part drawings, set up sheets, work order instructions, and other necessary process instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences
Performs basic measurement tasks to verify product is within the required specifications
Responsible for maintaining operator‑level visual quality of the product by inspecting for visual defects such as dents, burrs, scratches, etc.
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of moderately complex, mechanically operated machinery
Performs work in a safe manner by following all safety rules
Stops work if an unsafe condition is identified
Reports safety concerns immediately with management
Takes initiative and makes decisions based on known policies and procedures with minimal supervision
Participates with the efforts of total quality and process improvement by recommending methods, equipment, techniques, and other changes to improve machine shop operations through active participation in Process Improvement Teams or meetings
Identifies any production problems and notifies cell lead or supervisor
Assists in determining tools and fixture needs
Maintains proper documentation of data and collaborates with management staff and supervisor
Maintains cleanliness in designated work area throughout shift
Cross‑trains in various operations and in various cells as needed
Identifies and leads fixture and tooling projects needed for new or existing product
Responsible for storing and handling all Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) appropriately to prevent unauthorized access, dissemination, or use of this information or documentation
Supports all visitor security policies to protect ITAR/EAR/CMMC/CUI information, documents, product, etc. from unauthorized access by informing management immediately of any concerns
Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in employee’s work area
Performs other duties as assigned

Experienced with holding tight tolerances between .001” - .005”
Familiar with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques
Required Experience / Education / Training / Certifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
One (1) year prior experience with operating machinery on a manufacturing/production floor.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to bend, twist, squat and kneel occasionally.
Must be able to reach outward and reach above shoulder occasionally.
Must be able to use fine manipulation continuously.
Able to handle and grasp tools/equipment and products repetitively.
Finger dexterity to rotate parts constantly.
Able to read and write in English.
Must be able to push/pull and lift/carry up to 10 lbs. constantly.
Must be able to push/pull and lift/carry from 11 to 20 lbs. occasionally.
Must be able to lift/carry from 21 to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Visual acuity – Able to see close detail, distance and colors constantly.
May come into contact with chemicals.
Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required
Manufacturing shop atmosphere with open floor space, can be noisy at times, and is climate controlled.
Able to work onsite per business needs and per employee’s standard hours.
Able to wear required personal protective equipment constantly.
ITAR/EAR Compliance
This position requires access to export‑controlled information and/or hardware, and candidates must be U.S. Persons that comply with all U.S. Export control laws and regulation. As such, U.S. citizenship, U.S. lawful permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. §1324b(a)(3), or the ability to meet ITAR and EAR requirements is required.
Base Compensation
USD $20.00 to $22.00 paid hourly, based on experience.
