This opportunity will be located in Warren, Rhode Island.

Position Summary The Quality Inspector performs visual and dimensional inspections on machined components utilized in the assembly of aerospace and industrial seals. Using various handheld and benchtop measurement equipment, this position ensures compliance with both internal and customer dimensional requirements. The candidate will be responsible for generating and completing appropriate documentation such as dimensional inspection records, production routers, and non‑conformance reports.

Essential Functions

Responsible for a broad range of daily quality‑inspection functions, including incoming, in‑process, and final inspections of machine parts.

Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and other customer and industry specifications; understand geometric symbols and tolerances.

Use standard measurement gauges such as calipers, micrometers, drop indicators, etc., to ensure dimensional and visual compliance with internal and customer standards.

Adhere to quality‑systems procedures and submit discrepancy reports/material‑review requests when problems are found.

Evaluate MagSeal's product specifications and ensure they meet customer requirements; possess a clear understanding of GD&T.

Follow prescribed quality‑work instructions and utilize equipment as directed.

Discuss inspection results with product‑responsible personnel and recommend corrective actions; notify supervisor of production problems and assist in identifying and correcting them.

Discard or reject product, materials, and equipment that do not meet specifications; verify raw‑material lot number traceability.

Store and handle all controlled unclassified information (CUI) appropriately to prevent unauthorized access, dissemination, or use.

Support all visitor and security policies to protect ITAR/EAR/CMMC/CUI information, documents, product, etc. from unauthorized access.

Handle and manage hazardous waste generated in the employee's work area properly.

Perform other duties as assigned; maintain regular and acceptable attendance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Act in a self‑confident manner to facilitate completion of assignments.

Background in mechanical engineering with basic CAD understanding.

Read and understand technical drawings (blueprints).

Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, ERP systems, document control, and other databases; able to learn additional programs as needed.

Direct technical skills relevant to the equipment in the cell.

Ensure work is processed swiftly, timely, and with high‑quality results.

Demonstrate a safety‑first mindset and perform work accurately and thoroughly.

Communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing.

Make decisions while following company procedures; use critical thinking and reasoning to solve problems.

Pay attention to detail, accept responsibility, and adapt to change easily.

Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and conduct conforming to a set of values and accepted standards.

Work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate well within teams.

Required Experience / Education / Training / Certifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

At least one (1) year of continuous, professional experience in quality required.

Physical Requirements

Stand, walk, and sit frequently; bend, squat, and kneel occasionally.

Reach outward and above the shoulder occasionally.

Perform fine manipulation frequently; read/write in English.

Lift/carry up to 20 lbs. frequently; up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

Push/pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

Maintain visual acuity for close detail, distance, and color consistently.

May come into contact with chemicals.

Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required

Manufacturing shop and inspection lab environment with open floor space; may be noisy at times and climate‑controlled.

Work onsite per business needs and standard hours; wear required personal protective equipment constantly.

ITAR/EAR Compliance This position requires access to export‑controlled information and/or hardware. Candidates must be U.S. persons complying with all U.S. export‑control laws and regulations. U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or the ability to meet ITAR and EAR requirements is required.
