Overview Sales Floor Department Supervisor – Hardware‑Tools Responsibilities Lead and enable a team of associates to deliver the best possible customer experience. Coach, train, delegate, and follow up on daily tasks and associate performance. Manage customer‑facing activities (greeting, clarifying needs, closing sales) and non‑customer‑facing activities (down stocking, inventory, area recovery). Enforce safety walks, hazard reporting, and safe lifting practices. Communicate practices to the team to inspire customer‑focused behavior and goal attainment. Supervise associates in other departments as needed and support store coverage. Open, close, or serve as manager‑on‑duty (MOD) as required. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of retail experience OR 5 years of retail experience. 1 year of customer service experience. 1 year of experience supporting the unique needs of Pro customers (Pro Department Supervisor). Experience providing direction or supervision to teams (with or without direct report responsibility). Experience supporting or participating in training, mentoring, and developing associates. Cross‑functional experience and Microsoft Office proficiency. Physical ability to lift 25 pounds without assistance and potentially over 25 pounds with or without assistance. Preferred Qualifications 3 years of retail customer service experience. 3 years of experience supporting the unique needs of Pro customers (Pro Department Supervisor). Leadership role with direct report responsibility. Experience in the home improvement retail sector and fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Manager‑on‑duty experience. Experience using store computer systems (Project Tool, Genesis, Sterling, M2O, Thin Client, etc.).
