Position Overview A local and respected construction company seeks an experienced
Senior Construction Estimator
to drive accurate and competitive cost estimates for residential and commercial projects. This role is critical in shaping bid strategies, managing subcontractor negotiations, and supporting project success from concept through completion. You’ll work closely with project managers and leadership to provide detailed cost estimates and manage bid strategies.
Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential and commercial construction projects.
Develop bid strategies and manage the entire bid process.
Negotiate with subcontractors and vendors for competitive pricing.
Maintain estimating tools, data, and software.
Collaborate with project teams on scheduling and purchasing.
Supervise and mentor junior estimators.
Skills
Expertise in cost estimation and bid preparation.
Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials.
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Timberline/Sage), Excel, and scheduling tools.
Ability to analyze data and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
7–10 years of residential and/or commercial estimating experience.
Familiarity with industry databases (Means, Dodge, Richardsons) and local construction fees.
Proven track record in subcontractor/vendor management and contract administration.
