Machinist Job Description: The Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machines used to produce precision parts and components for commercial, service industry, and electronic training equipment. This role supports manufacturing operations by ensuring parts are made accurately, safely, and on time. Responsibilities: Set up and operate manual and/or CNC machines (mills, lathes, grinders, etc.). Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders. Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools. Maintain machines by performing routine cleaning and basic troubleshooting. Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area. Work closely with engineers and production teams to meet quality and production standards. Level Differences: Mid Level: Perform full setups, make adjustments, troubleshoot minor issues, and work independently. Senior Level: Program machines, train junior machinists, perform complex setups, and ensure high-precision results. Qualifications: Previous machining experience preferred (varies by level). Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments. Strong attention to detail and safety. Experience in manufacturing environments a plus.
