Region Line Engineer

EnergyUnited EMC is seeking a Region Line Engineer to support the planning, design, and reliability of our electrical distribution system in the Lake Norman Region. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient electric service for our members while working closely with operations, engineering, and safety teams.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Region Line Manager with planning, scheduling, and execution of regional objectives
Provide engineering support for distribution design, system reliability, and power quality issues
Coordinate and oversee internal and external crews to meet service delivery goals
Plan six‑week and daily workloads and ensure timely work order completion
Support safety programs, audits, training, and incident investigations
Analyze reliability data and assist with system improvement initiatives
Coordinate power quality investigations, feeder patrols, and equipment upgrades
Support large or complex member needs related to system design and reliability
Prepare switching procedures and assist during emergency and after‑hours situations
Utilize tools such as AMI and distribution automation systems to support operations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field
One year or less of experience in electric distribution planning (preferred)
Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals and power system operations
Familiarity with NESC and RUS standards preferred
EIT or FE certification preferred
Strong computer and technical skills
Valid North Carolina driver’s license with a good driving record
Working Conditions
Standard hours: Monday‑Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Subject to emergency call‑out, adverse weather conditions, and on‑call rotation
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather and travel to job sites regularly
Employee must live or be willing to relocate within a 25 mile radius of the Cornelius office
