Job Summary:
The Title Examiner position searches and analyzes public records in order to find, examine and evaluate documents to determine mineral and property ownership.
Job Responsibilities
Produce accurate, detailed reports summarizing research results.
Prepare, examine, research and complete certified abstracts.
Use courthouse computer systems to examine property and tax assessment records for compilation of information about a specific property.
Copy or summarize recorded documents, such as leases, right of ways, and judgments affecting specific property.
Examine liens, judgments, leases, plat books, maps, contracts, and agreements to verify legal description, ownership, and restrictions.
Create and review run sheets, deed plots, and flowcharts for abstracts and title opinions.
Research and abstract oil and gas leasehold interest ownership.
Submit reports and results from researching liens, mortgages, right of ways, easements, back taxes, mineral, coal, oil and gas ownership, and verification of current surface ownership.
Provide quality research and reports based on client needs and criteria.
Complete work in courthouses throughout the United States.

Other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Familiarity with Monroe County title a plus.
Expertise with Ohio title preferred.
Must be willing to travel to the Monroe county courthouse roughly 60-80% of the time for this project.
Ability to read and interpret maps.
Ability to interpret complex documents to obtain and understand legal property descriptions.
Basic familiarity with standard Microsoft Office Software including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Ability to create and use spreadsheets including multiple worksheets and intermediate functions such as totaling columns, changing formats, and entering/using basic formulas.
Ability to type using a computer keyboard to enter information rapidly, accurately, and proficiently.
Ability to retrieve deed and plat books up to 15lbs on low and high shelves.
Must possess and retain valid driver's license, and reliable transportation to use for travel assignments.
