Production Supervisor
Location: Albany NY
Responsibilities
Oversees and executes day-to-day operations for department ensuring direct reports are following policies and procedures related to employee safety and food/feed safety
Partners with Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory experts to implement the most effective approach for complying with corporate safety policies and procedures
Monitors production outcomes, quantity, and quality to ensure customer and food safety requirements are within specifications while providing recommendations for continuous improvements
Participate and lead process improvement initiatives including Centerlining, Preventative Maintenance, Pristine, 5S and ELEMEDS (Every Load, Every Mill, Every Day Safely)
Partners with local plant management to develop approaches for meeting/tracking efficiency standards (scorecard and metrics control, total cost of maintenance, monthly review of compliance audits, etc.)
Develops planning for future production workforce needs and participates in selection of employees
Take counts, correct discrepancies, and provide corrective actions/investigations to solve for any inventory count outside of variance range in the digital Vs physical count
Responsible for workforce engagement, recognition as well as development and coaching to hourly members
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or High school diploma/GED equivalent with 4 years of production experience
Minimum of 1 years experience having leadership responsibilities in an industrial environment (milling, agricultural, food production, or equivalent)
Demonstrated understanding of safety hazards and protocols
Understanding of computerized maintenance management systems
Knowledge of maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting packaging equipment and conveying systems
Training in LEAN, Six Sigma, or other manufacturing and warehousing optimization processes
Reliability centered maintenance training around packaging equipment best practices
