NV5 Geospatial is seeking a detail‑oriented
Geospatial Technician
to support high‑impact projects in our Dulles, VA office in the Washington, DC metro area near Loudoun Gateway Silverline metro station. Join a forward‑thinking team at the forefront of cutting‑edge 3D mapping and geospatial technologies, using the latest photogrammetry and geospatial tools to extract and compile planimetric and topographic features from Aerial, UAS, Mobile, Satellite imagery and Lidar data. Work Environment
On‑site in the NV5 Geospatial Dulles, VA office. Work in a dynamic, tech‑forward environment with a wide range of market and field professionals, including engineers, surveyors, GIS professionals, software developers, and project managers. Responsibilities
Pre‑project planning and estimation Processing of source data and utilization of production software such as DAT/EM, MicroStation, Global Mapper, TopoDOT, ArcGIS, Google Earth, and other mapping tools Perform or oversee aerial triangulation Stereoscopic compilation of data to client standards to create DEMs and DTMs Quality control and assurance of technical data to client and map accuracy standards Coordinate with production teams, including disparate departments and subcontractors Submit and/or certify project deliverables Update and create internal production and status reports Create and refine workflow and methodology standardization Communicate with project and production resources Troubleshoot and resolve accuracy or technical issues Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a geospatial field with concentration on surveying, geomatics, or GIS Professional certification in photogrammetry or related mapping science, or actively pursuing 6+ years of experience in a technical/professional environment Process development and improvement experience Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google Drive Client relations experience Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a business, science, or engineering program ASPRS Certified Photogrammetrist 10+ years of experience in a technical/professional environment Project management experience Resource planning/production management experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Understanding of surveying and mapping practices Exceptional communication skills & professionalism Strong leadership ability Strong writing skills Proven development and implementation of strategic vision Ability to maintain a professional and positive demeanor in times of stress Ability to interact professionally and effectively with internal and external clients Benefits
