Job Summary A pollinator conservation ecology position that leads teams conducting field studies on bumble bee movement ecology using radio telemetry equipment, assists in collecting genetic data, and manages field and lab data. The position is temporary with the possibility of extension.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in Ecology or a related field.

Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one by the employment start date.

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. by the proposed start date (no visa sponsorship).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with radio telemetry on small organisms (e.g., insects).

Presentations at major entomological conferences on topics such as insect movement ecology, radio telemetry, pollinator conservation, etc.

Experience conducting site selection for ecological field studies.

Knowledge of Colorado pollinating insects, especially bumble bees.

Experience handling, collecting, and curating insects from field collections.

Laboratory experience in molecular methods.

Proficiency in basic statistical methods, R programming, and scientific figure creation.

Experience conducting insect‑focused outreach and educational activities with K‑12 and general audiences.

Essential Duties

Lead data collection efforts for several projects related to bee ecology and conservation (40 %).

Properly curate, store, and produce data reports (40 %).

Plan and conduct outreach and education events with K‑12 and general audience stakeholders (20 %).
