General Summary
The PA works under the supervision of a Physician who acts as the collaborative practitioner.
Performs physical examinations of patients and evaluates and treats acute and chronic gynecologic patients.
Assists in surgical cases with the provider within the hospital setting 1–2 days a week.
Performs procedures including IUD removal and insertion, biopsies, Nexplanon insertion and removal.
Assists in the OR with hysterectomies, hysteroscopies, bladder and organ prolapse repairs, myomectomies, and more.
Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests such as routine laboratory work and X‑rays.
Monitors patients’ course of treatment and makes appropriate referrals to physicians or specialists as needed.
Orders pre‑operative and post‑operative medications as needed.
Collaborates with physicians to provide consistent care and support.
Displays a caring and professional attitude at all times while maintaining personal and professional growth.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public.
Demonstrates strong communication skills.
Schedule Details
Monday–Friday out‑patient clinical work.
Campuses covered: AH Celebration; AH Apopka; AH Winter Park; and AH Kissimmee as needed.
Knowledge and Skills Required
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.
Strong communication skills.
Strong medical decision‑making skills.
Bilingual/Spanish speaking required.
Required Education/Experience
Master’s degree in Physician Assistant (PA‑C) Studies.
Gynecologic surgery experience required.
Licensure, Certification, and Registration
Current, valid Florida PA or APRN license.
Certification by NCCPA, ANCC, or another nationally recognized certification organization.
BLS and ACLS certification.
Hospital Description AdventHealth East Orlando is a 295‑bed full‑service community hospital serving approximately 180,000 patients annually, including more than 16,500 in‑patients and 79,330 out‑patients. The hospital’s emergency department receives over 130,000 visits each year.
