Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 0420) At GameStop, we are committed to delivering the latest and greatest in gaming products. The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager, fosters a sales culture, and ensures outstanding guest service experiences.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Provide best‑in‑class guest service, greet guests, respond to questions, and recommend products.

Support store operations, visual merchandising, and guest relationships.

Process guest purchases and returns accurately using the POS system.

Answer phone calls and handle customer inquiries.

Promote GameStop’s benefits such as reservations, trade‑in, and Pro Rewards.

Assist in setting guest service expectations and training associates.

Advise on associate performance, provide feedback, and document it in Workday/HR system.

Ensure onboarding and compliance training is completed before shift starts.

Schedule associates and manage staffing levels.

Approve payroll, enter time off, and verify pay.

Maintain cleanliness, merchandising, and fixture upkeep.

Fulfill and ship Omni‑Channel orders.

Implement inventory control and loss‑prevention practices.

Exceed sales, profit, and shrink goals.

Perform inventory counts and restock merchandise.

Reconcile daily business transaction totals and bank deposits.

Validate shipments for discrepancies and process recalls.

Ensure safety, report injuries, and maintain store records.

Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Keyholders.

Adhere to all GameStop policies and the Associate Handbook.

Follow opening and closing procedures.

Qualifications

Proof of identity and U.S. work eligibility.

Minimum 18 years old.

High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.

At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.

At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.

Video game knowledge preferred.

Basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills.

Complete paperwork accurately.

Follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.

Execute financial tasks per company policy.

Work flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability.

Manage pressure and adapt to stressful situations.

Reliable, trustworthy, good judgment.

Work alone, stand, walk up to 12 hours/day.

Lift up to 30 lbs from ground to minimum 4 ft.

Understand military ranks if store located on a base.
