Lab Technician
We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our team. This role is a fantastic opportunity for new graduates looking to gain valuable skills and professional experience in a growing food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Conduct product and microbiology testing to ensure quality standards are met.
Perform computer data entry and maintain data accuracy.
Set up the daily testing table and maintain the sample retention library.
Release products for shipment following proper protocols.
Test raw ingredients to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Resample totes for nonconforming products and experimental totes.
Observe all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HAACPs), and adhere to good housekeeping and safety rules and regulations.
Complete all individual training as outlined by the training matrix or management training schedule.
Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor or Lab Lead.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Biology or Microbiology (Associate's degree also considered).
Experience in a laboratory setting.
Proficiency in bacteria culture, food testing, and plating techniques.
Knowledge of quality control and assurance procedures.
Understanding of wet chemistry and titration.
Experience in diagnosis, inspection, and data entry.
Skillful in pipetting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in microbiology and chemistry is advantageous.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
Work Environment This role is based in a microbiology lab within a food manufacturing facility. The position operates on the 2nd shift, from 3 PM to 11:30 PM. The environment is dynamic and requires adherence to safety and quality standards at all times.
Job Type & Location Contract to Hire position based out of Baldwinsville, NY.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00–$19.00/hr.
