Blue River PetCare
The Graphic Designer creates visual assets across the Blue River PetCare brand, primarily focusing on providing design support to Blue River PetCare’s nationwide hospitals. Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, this role works closely with the Senior Graphic Designer and broader marketing team to bring creative concepts to life and engage pet owners across various markets. This role is ideal for a motivated designer interested in growing their skillset across branding, layout design, digital design, and marketing communications within the veterinary industry.
Create customized marketing materials reflecting each hospital’s unique community and brand personality while maintaining Blue River PetCare’s visual standards.
Maintain brand kits for Blue River PetCare hospitals.
Support Field Marketing Team with timely fulfillment of design requests for seasonal campaigns and announcements, brand development, general location-specific marketing materials, and interior design projects.
Support hospital rebrands and brand revision projects alongside Senior Graphic Designer.
Create/refine mockups and brand kits for hospital interior design projects.
Edit and optimize hospital and company photos in Adobe Photoshop to support field marketing and communication needs.
Assist Communication Manager in layout and creation of supporting graphics for monthly newsletters.
Organize hospital brand assets within Digital Asset Management tool, ensuring files are current and accessible.
Prepare and optimize visual content for website updates.
Research brand trends, competitor activity, and target audience to strengthen creative output.
Ensure consistency of brand standards across visual materials.
Stay current on brand/design best practices/tools and veterinary marketing trends.
Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects.
Act as a brand steward for all Blue River PetCare entities.
Requirements
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, or related field. Or associate’s degree with 3+ years of professional experience in related field. 2+ years of professional design experience in graphic design-specific role. Submit creative work portfolio demonstrating variety of design materials across channels including print/digital marketing materials, social media, and email. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Strong creative thinking, visual communication and layout design skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Organization and time-management skills with ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously. Flexibility and drive to meet tight deadlines, assist multiple projects, and prioritize appropriately. Ability to work collaboratively across teams and accept feedback professionally. Professionalism, accountability, and a willingness to learn. Interest in or ability to develop working knowledge of veterinary industry. Technical Skills Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Canva. Experience in PremierePro, After Effects, and Figma is a plus. Proficiency in email template building via Mailchimp. Workshop, etc. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiarity with brand asset management tools or willingness to learn. Working knowledge of project management tools (Monday, Basecamp, etc.). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Understanding of digital design, social media formats, and typography principles. Exceptional time management and organization skills. Physical Requirements Remain in a seated position at least 75% of the time. Ability to navigate around the office to access file cabinets, supplies, office machinery, etc. Ability to communicate via in-person verbal communication, emails, and phone calls. Must be able to exchange clear, accurate information in these situations. Ability to use computer, keyboard and mouse. Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs. Must be able to travel domestically via plane and motor vehicle as needed. Work Location

Salary Range
: $65,000-70,000 per year Blue River PetCare team members are eligible to participate in the discretionary annual bonus program.
