Position Overview We understand the requirements of central HR and our solutions serve the critical needs of both central HR and the individual manager in the field. Responsibilities

Staff and document minutes of Medical Staff department and committee meetings.

Coordinate special and ad hoc Medical Staff meetings.

Assists in preparation of Credentialing Committee agendas and presentations, if assigned.

Prepare and forward department and committee meeting action items for assigned meetings.

Prepare and send department and committee meeting follow-up correspondence for assigned meetings.

Participate in the preparation of administrative reports (i.e. governing board) and rosters, as needed.

Participate in maintenance of Medical Staff files and filing.

Assists in development of forms and desk procedures required to operationalize departmental goals and objectives.

Maintain a working knowledge of the Medical Staff self‑governance documents and applicable Hospital policies to assist the Medical Staff in its compliance with stated parameters.

Apply current Joint Commission standards, State and Federal law, as well as standard Medical Staff Professional practices, pertaining to the Medical Staff as needed.

Assist in the management of the FPPE and OPPE processes.

Communicate with physicians to keep their files current.

Handle correspondence regarding Medical Staff activities and appointment status with physicians' and allied health professionals’ offices.

Ensure licensure, legal documentation and any special certifications are current for credentialing and privileging purposes.

Utilize an approved detailed checklist to review credentialing and reappointment applications and files for completeness.

If required, contact providers or groups for additional information as needed.

Assist the department director with all Medical Staff requirements and maintain records and systems that result in efficient program operation.

Under supervision of department director, update reports and forms utilized for credentialing and privileging purposes.

Assist with the preparation of the on call and emergency call schedules.

Work in collaboration with the department director, other members of the department, and Medical Staff members.

Other duties as assigned, to include simple/non‑complex special projects.

Position Requirements A. Education Although Associate degree is preferred, must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

National Association of Medical Staff Services certification as Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM®) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS®). Candidates without certification will be required to obtain either certification within 12 months following the date of hire for individuals who meet the examination eligibility requirements; otherwise, CPCS certification is required within 12 months following the date the examination eligibility requirements are met.

B. Qualifications / Experience Three (3) current and consecutive years of experience in Medical Staff Services meeting management and/or credentialing and privileging experience in a hospital or managed care setting OR Seven (7) current and consecutive years of experience, which includes meeting management, in a hospital setting as an administrative assistant, executive assistant or equivalent, OR a combination of seven (7) years experience in Medical Staff Services meeting management and credentialing and privileging and hospital administrative assistant, executive assistant, or equivalent, OR at minimum, an Associate degree in combination with at least three (3) current and consecutive years of administrative/executive assistant experience outside of the hospital and/or managed care setting.

C. Special Skills / Knowledge

Proven competency in building effective working relationships with physicians and hospital staff.

Effective communication skills required to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner with physicians, administration, staff and the public so as to maintain positive and productive relationships across the organization.

Demonstrated ability to manage a high number of demands and simultaneous priorities.

Demonstrated computer proficiency, e.g., Microsoft Office.

Demonstrated ability to function independently with minimal direct supervision.
