Administrative Clerk – Health Department
Location: City of Attleboro, MA
Responsibilities
Perform day-to-day operations of the Health Department.
Act as liaison between the public and the Health Department by responding to inquiries and complaints and logging all telephone calls received.
Maintain appropriate records.
Collect, stamp and sort mail.
Issue licenses and permits.
Perform bookkeeping, accounting, banking and budgeting for health programs.
Prepare monthly activity reports for the Mayor.
Process abatements on solid waste.
Maintain departmental payroll, including tracking sick and vacation leave.
Grant management and reporting.
Participate in Emergency Management and shelter trainings.
Distribute materials on social services provided in the community.
Liaise with hazardous waste cleanup companies to arrange cleanups.
Perform related work as required.
Requirements
High school graduation with clerical and bookkeeping courses.
Four years of experience in an office setting performing clerical and bookkeeping responsibilities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
Ability to use a computer and standard office equipment.
