Job Functions
Responsible for the operation of the assigned gluing machine and running quality cartons at or above target run speed while minimizing waste and downtime.
Leads the crew assigned to the machine and oversees the operations and adjustments needed of the machine.
Obtains and reviews the job ticket for product specifications prior to running job and makes adjustments as needed.
Inspects quality of finished product and makes adjustments as necessary to ensure quality product.
Responsible for leading changeovers (make readies) in an efficient manor to meet production needs and minimize downtime.
Responsible for start and stop of the machine if the machine is to be unattended or if maintenance or adjustments require to do so.
Assists with packing cases of finished goods if required to support crew.
Safe Quality Food Responsibilities for all employees
Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
Required Skills
Strong mechanical aptitude
Must be flexible; willing to work other shifts, overtime and weekends
Standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) carrying (up to 50 lbs.), pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, visual acuity (Near and Far).
Stack of carton typically weighing up to 35lbs pounds taken from press at waist level and packed in box.
Possess a strong work ethic
Desire to work additional hours(overtime).
Required Experience
High School Diploma, GED
Technical Certificate in Industrial Maintenance at Tech school, or equivalent is preferred.
Active Listening Skills – Ability to listen to what others are saying and then ask appropriate questions
Speaking Skills – Ability to talk to others and effectively convey information
Ability to prioritize assignments and tasks, with equipment downtime taking first priority
Ability to work in fast paced environment
