As a
Nurse Unit Manager , you will use your extensive clinical knowledge and leadership capability to provide overall coordination, management, and direction of patient/client care within your designated service area. You will be accountable for ensuring high-quality, safe, and consistent nursing/midwifery practice, while supporting staff development, team cohesion, and continuity of care. This role plays a key part in aligning clinical practice with policy, addressing practice inconsistencies, and driving improvements in patient outcomes through strong leadership and effective team management.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and lead the delivery of patient/client care within a defined clinical or community setting.
Provide line management, leadership, and supervision to nursing/midwifery and multidisciplinary teams.
Ensure nursing/midwifery practice aligns with professional standards, policies, and service expectations.
Build team capability, performance, and a positive workplace culture to support high-quality patient outcomes.
What We Are Looking For
Are you a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with at least three years’ post-registration experience?
Do you demonstrate competence in nursing and/or midwifery practice in line with relevant professional standards?
Do you have experience in management and leadership roles within a healthcare setting?
Are you confident supervising and supporting direct care workers, students, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses or midwives?
