WSDOT is seeking an External Civil Rights Specialist 4 to serve as an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Title VI Compliance Specialist. Under the administrative direction of the Interstate Bridge Replacement (IBR) Program's Assistant Director of Civil Rights & Equity, the specialist is the program's subject‑matter expert on compliance with Title VI, Environmental Justice (EJ), Limited English Proficiency (LEP), and the ADA.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing policies, plans, and procedures to ensure all IBR Program activities, services, and construction impacts comply with state and federal Civil Rights laws and provide fair treatment for all communities. The role also provides guidance and oversight to agencies, consultants, contractors, and other partners to ensure meaningful engagement, accessibility, and avoidance of unequal impacts. Strong candidates will demonstrate expertise in civil‑rights compliance, program management, accessibility standards, and the ability to resolve complex compliance issues while fostering inclusive and fair outcomes.
