Refrigeration Mechanic
This role is ideal for someone skilled in troubleshooting HVAC and refrigeration systemsincluding ammoniaand comfortable performing daily maintenance checks, reading blueprints, completing preventive work, and maintaining OSHA/EPA documentation. If you have at least two years of refrigeration or commercial HVAC maintenance experience, this role could be an excellent match.

Shift: 6:00 PM 6:00 AM (with 48 weeks of initial training on 6AM4PM shift)
Pay Rate: $28/hr
Essential Job Functions (Core Responsibilities)
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ammonia-based systems.
- Perform daily system checks on compressors, evaporators, condensers, boilers, coolers, and related plant equipment.
- Execute planned and preventive maintenance activities, including filter changes and system cleaning.
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical documentation.
- Maintain logs, records, and regulatory documentation (OSHA/EPA requirements).
- Monitor and repair plant utility systems (condensers, traps, filtration systems, piping, etc.).
- Complete purchase/work requests and requisition needed parts.
- Follow all plant safety standards including GMP, MSDS guidelines, LOTO, PIT, confined space, and HAZMAT procedures.
- Lift up to 75 lbs and work independently as well as part of a team.
Must Haves
- Minimum two years of refrigeration or HVAC maintenance experience.
- Commercial HVAC experience required; industrial environment preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and technical drawings.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, documentation tools).
- Ability to complete required logs and paperwork accurately.
- Ability to become LOTO, PIT, confined space, respirator, and HAZMAT certified.
