Cdl (B) Driver

A cdl (b) driver is responsible for safely operating a collection truck, and providing prompt, courteous and complete waste removal services for customers, while following all company, state and federal regulations at all times while operating the vehicle.

Principal responsibilities:

1. Complete pre- and post-operation rear-load waste vehicle inspection ensuring appropriate tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order and report any safety issues to manager.
2. Continuously monitor vehicle condition ensuring operational readiness and optimum performance at all times to minimize down time; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body (where appropriate) on each disposal trip.
3. Safely operate truck following paper route sheet along designated route and to disposal site(s) to service each customer.
4. Operate manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with company safety policies and procedures to lift and load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.
5. Always interact with all customers, dispatchers and others with courtesy and respect on a daily basis to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner.
6. Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste.
7. Clean area around any accidental waste spills, adhering to safety standards and policies.
8. Complete and sign required route sheets indicating customer trash no out, additional pick ups, and route notes.
9. Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
10. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
