Position Summary

The Junior Handler will be responsible for screening cargo in compliance with TSA rules and regulations. The Junior Handler will be required to complete a 4-8 week minimum team training course and certification prior to mobilization to the assigned location. Responsibilities

Participate in CCSP related training to search cargo and identify potential threats. Conduct authorized representative duties related to X‑Ray, physical search, and explosive trace detection as needed. Perform Junior Handler duties while commanding a trained working dog. Maintain training records. Provide care for and maintain the assigned certified canine, ensuring the canine is permitted to live in the employee’s residence, with adequate indoor climate‑controlled environment, subject to recurring inspections. Maintain all job‑related certifications and required security clearances. Operate company vehicle during on‑site training when required. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

U.S. citizenship required; hold citizenship for at least three years prior to application. Obtain a Known Traveler Number (KTN) within 4–6 weeks of employment. Obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge within 4–6 weeks of employment. Obtain a Security Threat Assessment (STA) for Airport Badge within 4–6 weeks of employment. Have adequate transportation capable of transporting the assigned canine and crate with climate control. Pass applicable Contract Testing & Certifications within 4–8 weeks of employment; maintain any certification requirement. Have a valid U.S. driver’s license with satisfactory driver record; must be REAL‑IDA compliant or possess a valid U.S. passport in addition to driver’s license. Effective oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills; manage time and multiple priorities to completion. Analytical problem‑solving skills. Adaptability to rapidly changing environment. Physical requirements: lift and carry up to 100 lbs; stand for long periods in all weather; perform intermittent sitting, walking, running, climbing, squatting, stretching, bending, kneeling; constantly use hands/fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, controls, and reach with hands and arms. Working Conditions

Work conditions range from a busy training environment to fieldwork, subject to frequent interruptions. Frequent work outside and in inclement weather (heat, cold, humidity) is required. Workers may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. Work hours are dictated by customer schedules and may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Travel may be required.
