Legislative Assistant
Republican Caucus
Full-time temporary Legislative Assistant position in the Republican Caucus of the Minnesota House of Representatives providing a variety of office duties for assigned Republican members. Start in February for approximately 3-4 months.
Need excellent scheduling, organizational skills and writing ability. PC experience and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook necessary. Frequent public contact: Strong customer service, good communication and attention to detail skills are a must. Understanding of state government and the legislative process helpful. Must have the ability to work long and irregular hours during session. BA/BS required.
Familiarity with Zoom/Teams/virtual meeting options a plus.
This is an hourly, at-will position that works in person. Benefits include earned sick and safe time, paid holidays based on hours worked, and earned non-exempt overtime. Starting classification and hourly rate commensurate with relevant experience. Legislative Assistant I - IV hourly range is $23.82-$58.61 per hour commensurate with experience. The starting salary range for an entry-level Legislative Assistant I is generally between $23.82 and $26.20 per hour, depending on relevant experience.
