Legislative Assistant
Republican Caucus
Full-time temporary Legislative Assistant position in the Republican Caucus of the Minnesota House of Representatives providing a variety of office duties for assigned Republican members. Start in February for approximately 3-4 months.
Responsibilities
Organize schedules, manage appointments, and maintain meeting agendas.
Prepare written materials, draft correspondence, and assist with research.
Coordinate with internal staff and external stakeholders using Microsoft Office suite and virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom and Teams.
Perform public contact duties, providing customer service and communicating legislative information.
Maintain records and support long and irregular hours during session.
Qualifications
Excellent scheduling, organizational skills, and writing ability.
Proficiency in PC and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong customer service, communication, and attention to detail.
Understanding of state government and legislative process helpful.
Ability to work long and irregular hours during session.
BA/BS required.
Familiarity with Zoom/Teams/virtual meeting options a plus.
Benefits
Hourly, at-will position working in person.
Earned sick and safe time, paid holidays based on hours worked, and earned non-exempt overtime.
Hourly range $23.82-$58.61 per hour commensurate with relevant experience.
