The Human Resources Generalist at Magna Engineered Glass provides day-to-day HR support to employees and leaders, ensuring consistent delivery of HR services that align with company policies and values. This role focuses on employee service, compliance, process coordination, and general HR administration across various HR functions. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, delivering responsive and high-quality support. Provide regular on-site HR presence through office hours, shift cross-over meeting attendance, and floor walks. Maintain a welcoming and organized HR office, ensuring visitors and employees receive timely assistance. Draft and distribute employee communications, including memos, announcements, and postings. Support cyclical HR processes including Open Enrollment, performance reviews, uniform distribution, and employee recognition. Administer leave-related documentation and communications (e.g., FMLA, Short-Term Disability) in coordination with third-party administrators. Assist with the Employee Opinion Survey (EOS), including communications, and action planning logistics. Help plan and coordinate on-site wellness events and promote employee wellness initiatives. Provide general guidance to employees on HR policies, practices, and procedures. Escalate more complex employee relations matters to HR leadership while supporting documentation and follow-up as needed. Assist in maintaining engagement and recognition programs that promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Partner with supervisors on basic HR matters such as team updates, attendance tracking, recognition, and policy clarification. Participate in shift crossover meetings to offer visible and proactive HR support. Maintain familiarity with floor operations by walking the shop floor regularly and responding to real-time needs. Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation to ensure smooth integration and consistent messaging. Maintain training records and update training matrices in collaboration with supervisors. Support execution of compliance-related and role-specific training, including scheduling and tracking participation. Administer content in the Learning Management System (LMS) as directed. Maintain accurate HR records and ensure documentation is handled in compliance with legal and internal standards. Assist with internal audits and compliance activities (e.g., I-9, EEO, FMLA tracking). Run standard HR reports and provide requested data to support audits or leadership requests. Coordinate job postings, interview scheduling, candidate communication, and onboarding logistics. Partner with temporary staffing agencies to fill hourly openings and maintain accurate records of agency use. Assist with timecard reviews, corrections, and approvals, escalating payroll issues as needed. Maintain employee payroll records and support employee questions regarding pay, deductions, and timekeeping. Identify opportunities to streamline recurring administrative tasks and improve the employee experience. Support data entry and maintenance within HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, Dayforce). Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar. Minimum of 23 years of HR experience in a generalist or coordinator-level role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Basic knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities with attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with HRIS systems (Workday and/or Dayforce preferred). Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, with demonstrated ability to work effectively in a bilingual environment using translation tools.
