JROTC Army Instructor

Reports To: Principal & JROTC Director Work Days: 10 Months (204 Days) Salary: ROTC Officers Location: TBD FLSA Status: EXEMPT Job Description: To prepare high school students for responsible leadership roles while making them aware of their rights, responsibilities, and privileges as American citizens. Provide stimulus for maximum personal development, including graduation from high school. Duties And Responsibilities

Conducts a public affairs program in the local area among school and community officials, civic groups, parent-teacher groups, and other individuals or groups, designed to further the understanding of the JROTC unit, the school, and the Army Enrolls students in the JROTC program and supports school officials conducting these programs Develops, implements, and coordinates a four-year program of instruction based on the JROTC curriculum, and Master Training Schedule published by the Director of Army Instruction Develops a program of activities for students designed to enhance the understanding of the responsibilities of citizenship Participates in citywide JROTC programs and activities as required by the Director of Army Instruction Participates in JROTC summer camp, as required Maintains and submits records and reports to the school system and Army chain of command Communicates with parents/guardians, colleagues, and community groups Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication Exhibits positive human relation skills Represents the US Army in a positive manner through professional conduct and bearing Engages in professional growth & demonstrates professional ethics & leadership Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policies, and state & federal rules & regulations Adheres to US Army policies and regulations pertaining to operation of a JROTC program as outlined by US Army Cadet Command, Second ROTC Region, Fifth Brigade, and the Director of Army Instruction for the Birmingham City Schools Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications

Sergeant must have an Associate's Degree Certification by US Army Cadet Command Meets Army weight and physical fitness standards Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may require Application Requirements
