Human Resources Business Partner Date: May 16, 2025 Location: Birmingham, AL, US, 35203 Company: Spire Inc. Summary Spire is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner in our Birmingham (AL) location, supporting functions in Alabama and Missouri. This role involves consulting with regional leaders, providing guidance and support across all areas of Human Resources. Qualified candidates should have: A Bachelor's degree AND 5+ years' experience in an HR Business Partner role Experience critically thinking through complex workforce situations Experience driving change through business groups Experience with strategic HR, including succession planning, leadership development, etc. Effective communication skills, adept at managing and prioritizing follow-up Duties and Responsibilities Function as an internal consultant to management by helping identify and resolve issues, promoting excellent management practices, and understanding employee perspectives. Drive an inclusive culture using data, metrics, and industry best practices. Provide HR guidance across talent management, employee development, performance management, change management, and employee relations. Support EEO and Affirmative Action initiatives, ensuring compliance and effective communication. Facilitate talent reviews and succession planning, working with the business to implement plans. Assist with labor relations, ensuring compliance with agreements and legislation. Investigate discrimination and harassment claims, serving as a resource for employees. Stay updated on HR legislation and trends, updating programs as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities None Required Education Bachelor's degree (required). SPHR/PHR certification is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Minimum 5 years of HR Business Partner experience (required). Experience with complex workforce situations and driving change. Experience supporting unionized and geographically dispersed workforces is preferred. Physical Demands and Environment Work in a shared office environment, with up to 10-20% travel.
