Certified Electrician
Reports to: Maintenance Manager Hours: M-F 8-5pm with occasional OT and Saturdays, Flexibility needed Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to join our team! Electricians will be responsible for ensuring the electrical systems of the manufacturing equipment, machinery, and plant infrastructure are functioning safely and efficiently. This role requires expertise in industrial electrical systems, troubleshooting, and maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Installation & Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and wiring for the corrugated paper manufacturing machinery, conveyors, and other industrial systems. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, both routine and complex, in the production lines and plant equipment. Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure electrical systems and machinery are operating efficiently and to reduce downtime. Compliance: Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, regulations, and codes (e.g., NEC, OSHA), and perform work in a safe manner at all times. Equipment Calibration & Testing: Calibrate and test electrical systems, sensors, and instruments used in the corrugation and paper production processes. Repairs & Upgrades: Repair or replace faulty electrical components and suggest upgrades to improve system performance or energy efficiency. Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults in industrial equipment, control panels, motors, and other systems. Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering and maintenance teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical components with mechanical and automation systems. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, as well as any upgrades or modifications made to electrical systems. Emergency Response: Provide emergency support for electrical failures, working quickly and efficiently to restore operations and minimize downtime. Training: Train and mentor junior electrical technicians and operators on electrical systems, safe work practices, and troubleshooting procedures. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or GED. Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or formal technical training program. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an industrial electrician, preferably in a manufacturing environment (corrugated paper or similar industries is a plus). Certifications: Valid electrician license, with certifications in industrial or commercial electrical systems. Journeyman electrician certification preferred Skills: Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, controls, motors, PLCs, and VFDs. Proficient in reading electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools. Understanding of safety protocols and OSHA standards. Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues quickly. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in confined or elevated spaces. Additional: Knowledge of PLC systems, automation, and other modern electrical technologies is a plus. Work Environment: Fast-paced, industrial manufacturing environment. Exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels. Ability to work on a rotating shift schedule, including weekends and holidays if required
