The Storekeeper in a supply locker location is responsible for the overall handling of telephone supplies and materials at any storeroom location assigned. The Storekeeper directs the efforts of other employees (where applicable). General duties include, but are not limited to, the following: ordering, receiving, and storing telephone supplies, material and tools for the respective departments; receiving requests for and arranging the delivery of supplies; determining quantities of supplies to be ordered, and frequency of ordering and maintaining stock levels; taking inventories and arranging stock supplies; scheduling pick up and deliveries; performing storeroom tasks, as required; receipts and records the delivery of supplies through the use of a computer terminal; initiating claims for missing, damaged or obsolete material to obtain proper credit; staging and packaging materials for deliveries by transportation or for return to Verizon; operating various types of material handling equipment to stage large items where appropriate; driving a company vehicle; communicating on the telephone to other company employees regarding supply orders; working in MDC, locker, cable yard, storeroom, central office and remote customer locations; performing work both indoors and outdoors; and performing additional duties and tasks as required by the Company. Results obtained in standard tests for this position must meet minimum requirements established by the Company, in accordance with Company policy. Normal medical authorization for this job except if previously taken and is still considered valid. Previous experience in warehousing or supplies field. Must possess a valid drivers license and have a good driving record. Satisfactory performance rating in present job. Satisfactory attendance/punctuality record in present job. Must be available to work scheduled tours designated by the Collective Bargaining Agreement and/or the needs of the business. Associates may be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as the needs of the business necessitate. Test(s) Required
