Job Summary Receives, stores, and issues supplies, equipment and tools. Compiles records of supply transactions. Verifies that supplies received are listed on the purchase order and packing slip. Inventories and stores supplies, equipment and tools. Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required. Essential Functions Stocks shelves, verifies supply levels, and assists employees with check-in/check-out of materials. Conducts material assessments, verifies deliveries and executes material returns. Arrange for transfers; pick up and deliver materials to and from plants. Ensures stock items are properly located and that the stockroom is kept clean and performs cycle counts. Enters and retrieves information about supplies, inventories, orders, and purchasing information into/from computer. Maintains inventory control and recordkeeping. Catalogues documents, equipment schematics, and warranty information. Inspects tools and equipment for proper maintenance. Ensures that tools and equipment are properly cleaned for storage. Possesses a general working knowledge of the various supplies and equipment and where to locate within the stockroom. Calculates basic math. Follows oral and written instructions. Pays close attention to details. Communicates effectively. Operates tow motors, dollies, pallet jacks, and other equipment. Performs manual labor, maintains active work level, and lifts up to 50 lbs. Works in high places (i.e., on ladder). Observes safe work practices, and knows safety regulations and procedures. Maintains productivity and efficiency under minimal supervision and/or while working also works well in collaborative, team-oriented environments. Prioritizes tasks logically based upon changing demands and employee needs. Performs other duties of a similar nature as may be assisted with the development of Standard Operating Procedures for storeroom operation. Minimum Job Requirements Education Candidate must possess a high school diploma, GED or equivalent. Experience Candidate must possess three (3) years of experience performing duties in maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) inventory environment. Experience using a computerized inventory control system, maintaining stock, and performing other MRO inventory practices is preferred. The ability to do manual labor and use power-operated equipment is required. Other Requirements Licensure and Certifications Candidate must possess a valid driver's license with a driving record in accordance with the District's acceptable guidelines. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Candidate must possess computer skills to complete inventory control-related assignments and operate various inventory control-related equipment. Effective communication skills, in order to produce written reports and recommendations concerning supply items, stocking levels, replacement or alternative materials, vendors, cost effectiveness and related storeroom management issues is required. Skill in the operation of a tow motor. Candidate must possess the ability to follow oral and written instructions is necessary. Candidate must possess the ability to exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions; establish and maintain effective working relationships and deal courteously with others; work independently and in team settings; perform basic arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of the position the employee will be required to lift and move short distances equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs. Working in elevated locations (rooftops, ladders) is required.
