Restructuring & Special Situations Finance Associate
AmLaw 100 Platform | Multiple U.S. Offices
Our AmLaw 100 client is hiring a restructuring and special situations finance associate to join its market-facing Business Restructuring and Reorganization practice. This is a creditor-side role with consistent exposure to top-of-capital-structure work and complex liability management transactions.
The team is active across Chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings, advising sophisticated financial institutions on matters that shape outcomes rather than follow them.
The Role
Represent hedge funds, CLOs, private credit platforms, and other institutional lenders
Advise on DIP financings, exit financings, liability management transactions, and special situations investments
Work on high-stakes restructurings and financings across industries and capital structures
Collaborate across offices with senior lawyers who stay hands-on with their matters
This practice is busy, selective in staffing, and deeply integrated with the firm’s finance and bankruptcy platforms.
Candidate Profile
Law school class years 2019 through 2023
Meaningful experience in restructuring finance or special situations work
Background representing creditors or borrowers in complex financings
Comfortable taking ownership of work streams and client‑facing responsibilities
Strong drafting skills and sound judgment under time pressure
Prior experience with DIP or exit financings is especially relevant.
Why This Role
National platform with real cross‑office deal flow
Consistent exposure to market‑moving matters and sophisticated clients
Clear runway for skill development in restructuring finance, not siloed bankruptcy work
Compensation at the top of the market with full AmLaw benefits
The team is open to candidates based in Houston, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Denver, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, or New York. Office location does not limit the scope or quality of work.
Next Step If you have restructuring finance experience and want to discuss this role confidentially, message directly or request a brief call. All inquiries are handled with discretion.
