Pay Range USD $75,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year.
About the Role As part of Latham’s Litigation Services team, you will perform a wide array of general litigation research and support functions for attorneys, staff, and clients. Your responsibilities include docketing all contested matters, publishing a firm‑wide litigation calendar, monitoring case status, ensuring timely retrieval of decisions and orders, and more.
Responsibilities
Perform fundamental legal research on court rules, procedures, and judicial preferences using databases.
Draft and review legal documents for conformity with court rules, including Notices of Appearance, Pro Hac Vice Motions, Stipulations, Notices of Appeal, Notices of Motion, Substitutions of Counsel, Subpoenas, Judgments, Affidavits of Service, Certificates of Good Standing, and Foreign Service of Process Forms.
Prepare procedural road maps to guide upcoming filings.
Leverage technology to streamline monitoring and distribution of cases in state and federal court.
Develop a repository of judicial experience – update templates, docket sheets, transcripts from oral arguments.
Protect and maintain highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and proprietary information retained by Latham & Watkins.
Qualifications & Experience
Strong organizational and communication skills for interacting with all organizational levels.
Strong time‑management skills in a fast‑paced environment with attention to detail.
Understanding of the role that accurate calendaring plays in risk management.
A bachelor’s degree (or four years’ experience in lieu of a degree).
Minimum of three years relevant law‑firm, docket, calendar, or litigation services experience.
