Overview PRIMARY PURPOSE: Oversees Neurodiagnostic technical staff and Sleep Center support staff. Manages daily operations under the department manager and performs advanced level Neurodiagnostic and Sleep diagnostic procedures.

Qualifications

Education: None specified.

Experience: Minimum ten (10) years of advanced Neurophysiology or Sleep Diagnostic experience and two (2) years of supervisory experience.

Equivalent Education/Experience: None specified.

Certification/Registration/Licensure

Must be registered by American Society of Electrodiagnostic Technologist (AAET) as a Registered Electrodiagnostic Technologist (REDT).

Must be registered by the American Board of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist (ABRET) as a Registered EEG Technologist (REEGT).

Must be registered by ABRET as a Registered Evoked Potential Technologist (REPT).

Must be certified in Neurophysiological Intra‑Operative Monitoring (CNIM).

Must be registered by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (RPSGT).

Must be registered by The American Board of Sleep Medicine (RST).

Must be RRT/CRT by The National Board for Respiratory Care with Sleep Disorders Specialist Certification (RRT‑SDS or CRT‑SDS).

Must have Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Clinical Sleep Health Educator (CCSH).

Skills Or Special Abilities

Demonstrate supervisory and leadership abilities.

Perform routine and advanced Neurodiagnostic and Sleep diagnostic procedures independently.

Expert knowledge of advanced neurophysiology techniques or sleep diagnostic procedures.

Respond appropriately in all patient‑related situations.

Work with physicians on assessing new techniques and recommending changes.

Work with personal computers including word processing, spreadsheets and databases.

Effective communication skills for handling difficult and severely ill patients.

Handle stressful situations effectively.

Follow infection control guidelines.

Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, patients and families.

Assist with department policy and procedure development.

Perform daily supervision of technical and clinic staff.

Assist management with department budget applications.

Assist with identifying department needed supplies.

Assist management with oversight of safety and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

Train, motivate, and evaluate staff to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities and adherence to staffing guidelines.

Evaluate equipment and supplies for cost effectiveness and department needs.

Assist with monitoring annual budgets to support department goals.

Independently perform routine, complex, and advanced Neurodiagnostic procedures including EEGs, evoked potentials, intra‑operative monitoring, nerve conduction studies, and polysomnograms.

Identify and analyze job design and implement changes to improve effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency.

Train staff on infection control and hazardous materials.

Maintain positive relationships with staff and physicians, ensuring high satisfaction.

Stay abreast of latest developments, advancements, and trends in Neurophysiology.

Coordinate quality management projects to ensure patient satisfaction and high technical standards.

Implement improvements in work processes and customer satisfaction.

Maintain knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines.
