Field Services Tech II – VCU Health Weekend Day Shift – Saturday to Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities:

Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and upgrades computer hardware, software, mobile devices, printers, and other peripheral equipment.

Assists with proper selection, purchasing, and purchasing recommendations for hardware and software.

Completes all required documentation and provides user assistance in person and remotely.

Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Licensure & Certifications:

Current Virginia Driver’s License with an acceptable driver’s record (if required to drive VCUHS vehicles).

CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, and/or MCSA certification preferred.

Experience:

Two years of general computer installation, maintenance, and repair experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Preferred experience: none specified.

Education:

High school diploma required.

Associate’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or equivalent education and experience preferred.

Independent Actions:

Installs, configures, and upgrades operating systems and software.

Troubleshoots and repairs problems with computing devices, including hardware, software, e‑mail, network, and peripheral equipment.

Assists with hardware and software selection and purchase recommendations.

Assists with the planning, testing, and deployment of equipment to new facilities.

Maintains current knowledge of hardware, software, and network technology.

Responsible for new and spare parts inventory and asset/inventory tracking.

Updates assigned tickets and other required documentation.

Additional Position Requirements:

Occasional shift work including nights and weekends.

Physical Requirements:

Strong recall, reasoning, problem‑solving, hearing, clear speech, legible writing, reading, and logical thinking skills.

Fast‑paced environment, ability to handle multiple priorities, frequent intense customer interactions, and adaptability to frequent change.

Weekend day work.
