Commercial Account Manager

Location: any California Epic office location – hybrid.
Responsibilities
Process applications, policies, endorsements, binders, certificates, audit requests, agency billing, and other items related to servicing clients from all regions (Midwest, Northeast, West).
Assist clients with policy coverages and related questions; review policy coverages for potential gaps and other needs.
Work with Producers to assist clients with service needs.
Renew and retain assigned accounts; conduct renewal process working with Producers to provide the best options.
Provide clients with additional coverage options.
Maintain client files in appropriate systems and provide standard office/administrative support.
Maintain carrier relationships and keep up with industry trends.
Consistently establish and maintain high levels of trust and confidence with clients by initiating introductions, periodic contacts, and promptly responding and resolving client questions and issues.
Process all applications, policies, endorsements, incoming mail, binders, schedules, certificates, audits, and other items related to servicing client policies in a timely and accurate manner.
Inform and educate clients about policy coverage, changes, exclusions, and insurance coverage needs; assist clients in making coverage changes.
Meet all quality and timeliness standards in the Agency Management System while properly documenting all activity.
Work with Placement Department and Producers to properly transition new business written.
For renewal marketing: submit applications with proper supporting documentation and follow up to ensure timely receipt of quotes and policies.
Enter policy information into carrier websites for quote options.
Aggressively and professionally negotiate premiums and commissions with underwriters and wholesalers.
Present quote options to the client and/or Producer, if applicable.
Bind and issue policies in carrier websites or order policies from underwriters.
Set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of all responsibilities.
Maintain cordial and effective relations with clients, co‑workers, carriers, wholesalers, vendors, and other business contacts.
Maintain up‑to‑date client records, workflow tasks/activities, manuals or other required documentation.
Interact with others effectively utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance as needed to achieve the business goals of the Company.
Stay informed regarding industry trends, new product/program developments, coverages, legislation, technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
Work effectively to resolve problems or enhance service in a timely manner.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
Ensure expert knowledge is maintained.
Qualifications
Full knowledge of Property & Casualty lines of coverage and services.
Recognize problems and respond appropriately.
Able to analyze situations logically to draw solid conclusions.
Demonstrate experience with Agency Management Systems, rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively manage, maintain, and write assigned clients and prospects.
Advanced knowledge of navigating the Internet and various Microsoft Office programs, including Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Strong attention to detail and time management abilities.
Strong ability to multi‑task and assign priority.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently both with and without direct supervision.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment as well as independently.
Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent required; college degree preferred.
Two or more years of experience in a mid‑size brokerage or carrier.
Must have working knowledge of a variety of Microsoft Office computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software.
Must be able to work in a fast‑paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations; position continually requires teamwork, demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
California Property & Casualty License.
Valid Driver License.
Ability to travel independently to clients; some air travel may be required.
Compensation The national average salary for this role is $76,000.00 - $83,000.00 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. Base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications, and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
