Job Description:
Pay Range: $32.40hr - $39.20hr
Requirements / Must Have
Strong understanding of inventory costing methods and inventory management principles.
Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel capabilities.
Ability to analyze inventory transactions, adjustments, and variances for accuracy and compliance.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to reconcile physical inventory with financial records.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends.
Ability to ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Experience
Three or more years of experience as an inventory cost accountant, inventory analyst, or similar role within a retail or comparable industry.
Experience preparing and analyzing inventory-related financial reports, including variance and trend analysis.
Experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes related to inventory.
Experience reconciling cost and quantity variances at purchase order and invoice levels.
Responsibilities
Manage and oversee inventory costing processes, including standard costing and inventory valuation.
Analyze inventory transactions and adjustments to ensure accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
Coordinate and investigate physical inventory counts and variances with financial records.
Prepare and analyze inventory-related financial reports and metrics.
Monitor inventory levels, aging, and slow-moving items to support inventory decisions.
Assist with inventory-related journal entries and reconcilations during close cycles.
Develop and maintain inventory cost models and ensure consistency across processes.
Implement and improve inventory control procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Provide insights and recommendations on cost-saving opportunities and inventory strategies.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
Skills
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
ERP and inventory management system expertise.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Qualification and Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Professional certification preferred.
