Pay Range:
$25.55/hr - $47.88/hr (Base pay). Actual compensation will be based on skills and experience.
About the Role Shift: 40 hours guaranteed in straight time per week. Call duties include Thursday and Friday 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. and 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday.
Responsibilities
As an OR On‑Call team member, be readily available outside of regular hours to provide immediate support during urgent or emergency surgical procedures.
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to prepare the OR, assist during surgeries, and help with post‑operative care as needed.
Evaluate patients prior to surgery and provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure.
Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time‑out, debriefing, and universal protocols, according to hospital policy.
Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care while managing evidence‑based practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Consistently apply nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patients.
Assess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes in patient condition along with the care provided thoroughly.
Educate patients and families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment, and follow‑up measures.
Qualifications
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
Minimum of 1 year of trauma experience.
Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
