Daily activities are coordinated by the RN. The ED Tech performs a variety of technical tasks and bedside functions, including direct patient care, hygiene, skin care, mobility, transfers, monitoring, phlebotomy, technical skills, assisting in procedures and EKGs. The position also involves managing equipment, assisting in procedures, maintaining lab area and POC testing, upholding regulatory requirements and maximizing throughput within the emergency department setting. Job Responsibilities: Provides age‑appropriate care to patients, applying developmental theories across age groups. Monitors basic physiological parameters and records vital signs, weights, heights and other metrics as required. Administers treatments and procedures in accordance with policy, changes dressings, provides post‑mortem care and assists physicians with exams. Assists patients with elimination of body wastes and accurately labels specimens. Performs point‑of‑care testing and participates in unit inspections to maintain laboratory regulatory status. Assists with treatment, monitors patient condition, and documents activities consistently. Communicates effectively with team and patients, respecting cultural needs. Initiates emergency procedures and maintains patient safety. Functions as a team member, assisting with clinical and non‑clinical activities. Maintains knowledge of throughput initiatives to maximize patient flow. Ensures compliance with duties and responsibilities. Maintains patient room free of clutter and waste, implementing safety practices. Education:
