Responsibilities
You will conduct a subjective assessment of assigned patient’s speech language abilities during spontaneous conversation. You will administer objective tests to assess patient’s communication assets and liabilities.
You will structure and implement individualized patient program to improve communication abilities.
You will evaluate patient regularly during treatment and adjust program as needed to maximize patient progress.
You will document progress in patient’s chart. You will complete notes, charges, discharge notes and patient communication.
You will consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre‑screen assessments and physician consultations to determine appropriate placement of potential patients.
Qualifications
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
Licensed (SLP) Speech‑Language Pathologist in the state of Texas is required.
Master’s Degree from an accredited speech therapy program is required.
Must have CCC licensure.
A minimum of 1‑2 years experience in a rehab setting is required; must be post CF year.
Experience in MBS, cognitive therapy as well as speech/voice experience is required.
Must be able to work 2 weekend shifts a month and holiday rotation.
