The

Speech Therapist

provides high‑quality, patient‑centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. As a member of the health care team, the Speech Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments and establishes appropriate treatment goals. The Speech Therapist serves as an educator to patients, families, students, and colleagues. Responsibilities

Conduct a subjective assessment of assigned patient’s speech‑language abilities during spontaneous conversation and administer objective tests to assess patient’s communication assets and liabilities. Structure and implement individualized patient program to improve communication abilities. Evaluate patient regularly during treatment and adjust program as needed to maximize patient progress. Document progress in patient’s chart; complete notes, charges, discharge notes, and patient communication. Consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre‑screen assessments and physician consultations to determine appropriate placement of potential patients. Qualifications

Licensed Speech‑Language Pathologist in the state of Texas. Master’s degree from an accredited speech therapy program. BLS certification required or must be completed within the first 30 days of employment. A minimum of 1 year experience (post CF year) in an acute care setting required; rehab experience preferred. Must be able to work a minimum of 2 shifts per month. EEO Statement
