Baylor Scott & White Health Medical Center is seeking a full‑time Charge Nurse to join our Ortho Trauma Progressive Care Unit (5 South). The city is the #1 location in the nation for nursing opportunities and advancement. Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636‑bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.

Schedule:

Full Time – 36 hours per week.

Unit Summary

Post ICU trauma patients (serious traumatic injury to two or more body systems)

Complex plastic reconstructive surgeries (incl. reconstructive flaps and graft sites, post‑cancer reconstruction, and trauma‑related reconstruction)

Complex ENT patients including free muscle flaps and neck dissections

Complex ENT reconstructive tracheostomies and laryngectomies

Traumatic complex fractures and musculoskeletal wounds

Elective joint replacements – Rapid Recovery Program

Sports injuries

Spinal deformities

Complicated pelvic, hip, and compression fractures

Skeletal malformations and abnormalities

Amputations and prosthesis

Neurosurgery, vascular surgery, general surgery

Medical/surgical patients including those requiring telemetry

Requirements Of The Ideal Candidate

Graduate of the RN School of Nursing

ADN required

Active RN license

Basic Life Support (BLS) required or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer

Qualifications

Education – Graduate of an accredited program

Major – Nursing

Experience – 2 years of experience

Certification / License / Registration Registered Nurse (RN)

Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
