Senior Mechanical Engineer

Located in Tampa, FL (Onsite). This is not a remote or hybrid position.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and development of electro‑mechanical equipment. The candidate will work directly with the design team and manufacturing vendor, designing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and solving challenges related to product development. Duties include root‑cause analysis, working with suppliers and in‑house support personnel, and improving designs from concept to production. The candidate will also maintain, update drawings and Bills of Material, and provide test support. This position is onsite at our Springfield, VA office.
Roles and Responsibilities
Design systems and integrate multiple systems using SolidWorks from initial concept to production launch.
Generate and provide analysis of FEA studies in SolidWorks.
Generate and analyze drawings from parts/assemblies following ASME 14.100 and MIL‑STD‑31000.
Assist in production problem solving by interfacing with the manufacturing team to find creative solutions.
Communicate and collaborate with team members and represent the company with customers and suppliers.
Required Education / Experience
4‑year Mechanical Engineering degree with 10+ years of hands‑on experience.
OR 2‑year technical college degree/military experience with 15+ years of mechanical and design/drawing experience.
Technical Skills
Experience designing mechanical systems and power generation and distribution systems.
Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), problem solving, technical documentation/communication.
SolidWorks and 2D CAD and mechanical design experience are mandatory; all other skills are negotiable.
Personal Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem‑solving abilities.
Must be eligible to receive U.S. Security Clearance.
Must have ability and some flexibility to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.
